Hey You! What Song are you Listening to?

Sitting on the train, didn’t you ever wonder what the person next to you was listening to?

You might see them on the bus, street or in the library, immersed in their own musical universe with their headphones on. If you had the guts, curiosity would eventually win you over.

Here is one guy that set out to clear this question once and for all. His name: Tyler Cullen, an up and coming documentary film maker from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  His mission was to make a musical snapshot of New York – for one day long ask random pedestrians what songs they were listening to.

Few things come to mind here (and we hope it doesn’t sound too categorical), for example: a lot of people’s tastes are quite predictable compared to how they look. A young hipster looking guy with skateboard and earing is listening to LCD Soundsystem, or an uptown office female who smiles when she says “The Best Is Yet To Come” by Frank Sinatra. But what we find beautiful is how you can notice how much of an important role music plays in their lives, especially when surrounded by such chaos and noise.
